Sync Modes

Auto-Sync

New summaries sync automatically after processing. Your Notion database stays current without any manual effort.

Hands-free updates

Manual Sync

Click "Sync Now" when you want to update Notion. Perfect if you prefer full control over what gets synced.

Full control

Privacy control: You can exclude individual summaries from syncing to Notion using the toggle on each summary card in the My Context tab.

Setup Guide

Connect to Notion

Open Context Companion Extension

Click the Context Companion icon in your browser toolbar.

Navigate to Connectors Tab

Click "Connectors" and expand the "Notion" section.

Click "Connect to Notion"

You'll be redirected to Notion to authorize the connection via OAuth.

Grant Access

Select pages Context Companion can access (recommended: "All pages" or a specific parent page). Click "Allow access" to complete.

Find Your Database

After connecting, Context Companion creates a database called "Context Companion" with a 🧠 icon.

How to find it:

  • Search in Notion: Press Cmd/Ctrl + K and type "Context Companion"
  • Use the direct link: In the extension, click "Open in Notion →" to jump directly to your database

Tip: You can move the database anywhere in your Notion workspace after it's created. Just drag it in the sidebar or use the "Move to" menu.

Configure Sync Settings

Choose Your Sync Mode

  • "Sync all new summaries automatically" — Summaries sync right after processing
  • "Only sync when I click Sync Now" — Manual control over syncing

Exclude Individual Summaries (Optional)

In the My Context tab, each summary shows a Notion toggle button when connected:

Once your summaries are in Notion, Notion AI can reference them for powerful knowledge queries:

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Context Companion work with Notion?

Yes! Context Companion can sync your summaries to a Notion database. Connect via OAuth in the Connectors tab, and your AI knowledge will be searchable in Notion and available to Notion AI.

What gets synced to Notion?

Only summaries and their metadata (title, topics, category, source, date). Raw conversation content is never synced, keeping your detailed exchanges private.

Can I control what syncs to Notion?

Yes. You can choose auto-sync or manual sync mode, and exclude individual summaries from syncing using the toggle in the My Context tab.

What happens if I disconnect from Notion?

Your Notion database remains intact — disconnecting doesn't delete anything. Future summaries won't sync until you reconnect. You can delete the database manually if desired.

Does it work with Notion AI?

Yes! Once your summaries are in Notion, Notion AI can reference them when you ask questions. It's a great way to query your AI knowledge using natural language.
